We hope you enjoy using this web site as much as we have presenting it to you. We set out to provide some exciting ideas on how to make the most of the wide range of flexible space solutions we have to offer.

Lotus has steadily built a reputation for being a good business to deal with and we are proud of our achievements, including installing the largest wall systems in Australia, at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.

Lotus is 100% Australian owned. Our products are Australian designed and made and as a privately owned business we work hard to offer that little extra service and helpfulness that larger organisations often fall short on.

Our company

Lotus has been in business for over 50 years, originally making shower screens. When concertina doors became fashionable in the 70's the founding owner designed a unique folding door system and sales of this superior product took off.

After 15 years the business changed hands and continued strongly with imported timber folding doors being added to the product range. However sales started to decline as folding doors became more of a special purpose product. As the owner at the time had many other business interests, including becoming President of Collingwood Football Club, Lotus was onsold to Keven Diggens in 1989. Keven clearly saw potential as he was lured from a career path with large multi-nationals in the fashion and toiletries industries to manage this small manufacturing business. Through continuous technical innovation, attention to customer needs and expansion of new products into the commercial market, the business has steadily grown from the recession days of the early 90's.

The latest chapter has seen a management buy out by Peter Hughes and Nick Diggens in December 2003, who between them have had 25 years of experience in this business. Prior to Lotus, Peter's background was in the fitout industry and Nick's in the soft drinks industry.

Today Lotus employs over 150 staff with offices throughout Australia and distribution in South East Asia, India, the USA (incl. Hawaii) and Central America. We are now recognised as a leading player in the markets in which we operate.
