Seals


Lotus offer two seal combinations that suit different opening sizes, panel weights & sizes, floor finishes & levels, and acoustic requirements. The full perimeter of the opening is acoustically sealed at the top and bottom rail as well and the receiving and trailing jambs. We believe this to be a first for a face mounted sliding panel and allows us to offer the acoustic range of Rw29 to Rw38.

Receiving Jamb
This has been designed to not only perform acoustically, but its wide aperture design allows the use of generous sweep seals that significantly minimize the chance of serious finger entrapment.
Trailing Jamb
This has been specifically designed to offer minimal friction, no damage to the surface finish of the panel and a proper acoustic seal.
Top and Bottom Seals
We offer a range of seal combinations for both the top and bottom rail that offer a balance between cost, acoustic performance and ease of use.

The following tables show the seal combinations available and the corresponding Rw point they are used for. Please note that Seal Type 4 can be used on the lower Rw points if ease of use is a high priority.
