Both corporately and within its operations, Lotus is committed to minimising the environmental impacts of its operations, products and services and increasing the sustainability of the manufacturing & building industry.
Working with customers, suppliers, staff we've identified all aspects of how we impact on the environment, and have an Environmental Management System (EMS) to plan, document, measure and monitor environmental performance including setting, assessing and reviewing objectives and targets.
We focus on operational items such as the minimisation of Green House Gas emissions, water usage, and promoting effective waste management. Our commitment to minimising our environmental impact goes beyond our operations and extends into the performance of our products in their various applications.
We consider the sustainability of the materials we use in the manufacturing process e.g. re-cycled aluminium, sustainable timber sources (FSC certified), low embodied energy etc through responsible purchasing and clever design. We consider product stewardship, low emissions finishes, and minimise PVC content for superior performance.
Where our products are for external applications they are designed to be highly energy efficient and to meet and exceed the current industry standard. Overall we seek to actively contribute to the improvement of energy efficiency and livability of buildings through innovative product design and commitment to our environmental principles.
Our commitment to minimising our environmental impact has led us to memberships of the Green building Council Australia (GBCA) and membership of the Windows Energy Rating Scheme (WERS). We actively promote and communicate this policy to all staff to ensure at all levels this policy is implemented.
