Glass Thickness

GLAS-STAX is designed to accept various thicknesses of glass

  • FRAMELESS: 10mm-25mm toughened
  • FINE FRAME: 6.38mm laminated or 6mm toughened

Additional Techical Information

The project engineer should provide the design wind pressure that the glasswall will need to withstand.

Panel Weights

  • FRAMELESS: Weight/Panel (kg) is –
    [Panel area (sqm) x glass thickness (mm) x 2.5] + [15 ÷Panel width (m)]
  • FINE FRAME: Weight/Panel (kg) is –
    [Panel area (sq m) x 15] + [Panel height(m) x 10] + 15 ÷Panel width(m)]
    Example: 2.7m high, 0.8m wide, 6mm glass
    (2.7 x 0.8 x 15) + (2.7 x 10) + 15 ÷ 0.8) = 78.2

CAD drawings of track, suspension rails, seals, doors and locking action are contained in the GLAS-STAX manual and on Lotus website

Acoustic Data

Formal acoustic opinions are available indicating GLAS-STAX would achieve a laboratory rating of up to RW 40.
